It's Time to Raise Pennsylvania's Minimum Wage!
At Episcopal Community Services in Philadelphia (ECS), one of our Lead advocacy issues is Living Wage, with an increase in the minimum wage as a step on the way to achieving a living wage. Yet Pennsylvania’s minimum wage has been stuck at $7.25 per hour since 2009.

All of Pennsylvania’s neighboring states have a higher minimum wage than the Commonwealth. Research has shown that this dynamic is detrimental to Pennsylvania’s economic growth. Once again, Governor Shapiro called on the General Assembly in his recent budget address to raise Pennsylvania’s minimum wage to $15.00 per hour as soon as possible.

ECS urges the General Assembly to act now and raise Pennsylvania’s minimum wage to at least $15.00 per hour beginning January 1, 2027.
