HB 477 by Rep. David Faulkner, R-Mountain Brook-- the House version of the junk health plans bill—passed the Alabama House. Now, this bill will be up for a vote in the Senate Banking and Insurance Committee on April 22 at 10 a.m.
This is one of our last chances to stop this bill from moving forward. Tell your senator to vote NO on HB 477.
Instead of closing the coverage gap for nearly 200,000 Alabamians, this bill would make the situation worse. This bill would expand access to junk health plans that can deny coverage for preexisting conditions, hike premiums based on your medical history, and avoid setting caps on out-of-pocket costs. Alabamians deserve real, affordable coverage—not junk plans.
Tell your senator to vote NO on HB 477.
