Rural hospitals continue to close. We are in a health care crisis, and the toll on people and communities across our state is growing:
- More than 1 in 4 women in Alabama (27.9%) live more than 30 minutes away from a hospital with labor and delivery services.
- Twenty-four hospitals are at immediate risk of closure.
- Nearly two-thirds — or 65% — of Alabama hospitals have lost services since 2015.
