Encourage to Only Support Property Tax Relief Legislation
The legislature has called a special session on August 26th to address property tax relief, but there is potential for them to enact laws that would defeat the purpose of the property tax relief such as reclassifying property at a more expensive rate, enacting occupancy qualifications or creating new fees such as a transfer fee. No homeowner should end up paying more in property taxes or fees because of legislation from this special session.

Please take a quick moment to send a pre-written message to your legislators, encouraging them to support legislation providing property tax relief while protecting local services.

Colorado lawmakers must oppose any legislation that would jeopardize property tax relief for Coloradans. Property taxes have increased over the last 5 years and current Colorado homeowners are struggling to afford their home and those who want to own a home are being priced out.

Please send a message today, urging your legislators to prioritize property tax relief over other legislation that would compromise a bipartisan solution.
