The TAG award amount is determined yearly in the budget set by action of the Virginia General Assembly. Getting and holding the attention of legislators, many of whom are not familiar with the Tuition Assistance Grant program, is essential to thousands of Virginia students' ability to attend college. Most of all, we know that it is essential to you!
CICV and our partners are advocating for increased state funding for the TAG award.
We urge you to write to your Delegate and state Senator to ask them to support an increase the TAG award to $6,000. When you write, please consider
1) expressing your gratitude for the TAG grant; and
2) encouraging them to fund the award for all types of TAG awards at $6,000.
Your voice, along with others from across the Commonwealth and 28 private colleges statewide, can have a powerful effect.
Please consider sharing with these legislators how TAG has positively impacted your ability to pursue higher education. Your personal TAG experience can influence important decisions for everyone.
