The Department of Health (DOH) must continue to recognize CDR (Center for Disability Rights) as a Fiscal Intermediary in the Consumer Directed Personal Assistance Program. The State’s rushed transition to a single fiscal intermediary, PPL, which will take place just over three months starting in January, will strip disabled New Yorkers of their choices and, in many cases, essential care. If CDR and other Independent Living Centers are not guaranteed to continue their role as fiscal intermediaries, countless individuals and families will lose access to the vital support and services they depend on.
Now is the time to act!
👉 Contact your local elected officials TODAY and demand they advocate for CDR’s continued role as a Fiscal Intermediary in this critical program.
👉 Make sure they understand the gravity of this issue—tell them how essential CDR’s services are to the community and urge them to stand up for the rights of those who rely on these supports.
👉 This is not just about a policy change—this is about the well-being of disabled New Yorkers. We must ensure DOH’s decisions reflect the needs of families and individuals who cannot afford to lose the services they depend on.
Don’t wait – your voice is crucial!
Together, we can make a powerful difference. Let’s ensure that CDR continues to be a lifeline for those who need it most.
