California State Scientists have been fighting for a contract for 3 years now. We are fighting for a contract for our families and our future. We’re standing together to make sure that California State Scientists, working around the clock serving the State of California and its citizens can afford to support themselves and their families.
But this fight is bigger than us.
- It’s about holding politicians accountable to their pledges, promises, and commitments.
- It’s about equal pay for equal work.
- It’s about recognizing minimum qualifications and level of technical expertise.
- It’s about progress toward addressing the State’s 14.5% gender pay gap, by recognizing that our female-dominated bargaining unit of scientists has done and continues to do substantially similar work to a male-dominated bargaining unit of engineers and should be compensated accordingly.
- It’s about doing whatever it takes to ensure the needs of working families in the State of California are met, and that this Administration recognizes it cannot continue to exploit its workers and balance its budget on the back of State employees.
Strong picket lines will send a powerful message to the Newsom Administration that enough is enough.
Stand with us. Sign our pledge to let rank-and-file California State Scientists know that you won't cross CAPS picket lines, should a strike become necessary.
Solidarity forever!
