The U.S. Department of Education is excluding Marriage and Family Therapy graduate degrees from its definition of “professional degrees,” which prevents incoming MFT graduate students from accessing federal graduate student loans. This will negatively impact the workforce pipeline for future MFTs across the country.
Please contact your U.S. Senator and ask them to take action to recognize Marriage and Family Therapy as a professional degree eligible for higher federal graduate student loans.
