SB 1414 - Protect Children from Sex Trafficking
SB 1414 would make it a felony to buy a child for sex in California. Did you know that purchasing a child for sex in California is currently a misdemeanor, punishable by as little as 2 days in jail? While selling a child for sex is a felony, the demand for sexual exploitation comes from sex buyers, destroying the lives of victims.

This bill would make buying a child 15 or younger for sex a felony.

An estimated 100,000 minors are commercially sexually exploited in the United States, and California has one of the highest rates of human trafficking in the nation. Tragically, most trafficked young people come from the foster care system. Many have experienced abuse, poverty, homelessness, substance addiction, juvenile detention and are undocumented or runaways.

Young people deserve to be protected from this violence.

Take 30 seconds RIGHT NOW to ask the Governor to sign SB 1414 to protect children.
