Ensure All Indy Public School Students Access Their Share of Funds
In Indianapolis, public charter schools operate with 42.5% less public funding – or about $7,500 less per student – than their peers who attend traditional public schools because they do not receive local tax dollars. Yet charter schools serve more students from low-income communities and students of color than schools directly run by IPS and have shown to produce better academic outcomes. SB 518 would change the way public schools are funded so that dollars follow the student to their public school of choice.

Please tell your representatives you support this bill so we can ensure schools that are serving students well have the resources they need to succeed.
