The BoatU.S. Government Affairs Team is always working to stay in front of policy trends on the water. Here’s what BoatU.S. is watching for you:

January means the kick-off of the state legislative season and BoatU.S. is on watch for legislation that touches boaters' interests. We track all 50 states and feed that information to our state policy map. With proposals ranging from new anchoring restrictions in Florida to new boater education requirements, the boating policy landscape is active. There are currently over 100 bills we are actively tracking, some good for boating and some not-so-much, and it is just the second week of January.

Should legislatures need to hear from boaters on a particular issue, we count on BoatU.S. members to speak up. We send Action Alert to BoatU.S. members with a link to easily make their views known. Be sure we have your current email address.
