As Congress works on drafting a budget reconciliation bill to extend tax cuts, the Public Service Loan Forgiveness (PSLF) program is being targeted as a revenue source for the effort. Rather than providing borrowers with full student loan relief after working in public service and making student loan payments for 10 years as originally promised, Members of Congress are actively discussing setting caps on the amount of loan forgiveness PSLF would provide.
