Support the Women’s Health Protection Act

The Supreme Court decision on Dobbs v. Jackson Women's Health Organization overturned the precedent in Roe v. Wade and Planned Parenthood v. Casey that had protected access to abortion care. AWHONN supports a woman’s right to the full range of reproductive health care services.

More than half the states have laws that somehow restrict access to abortion.

AWHONN supports and promotes a woman’s right to accurate and complete information and access to reproductive health care services. AWHONN opposes legislation and policies that would limit a health care provider’s ability to counsel patients as to their full range of treatment options and provide referrals, if necessary. Health care decisions are best made within a health care system where providers are allowed to respect patients’ rights to make their own decisions according to their personal values and should not be complicated by restrictive laws.

The Women’s Health Protection Act (H.R. 12/S. 701) would create a nationwide statutory right for providers to perform, and patients to receive, an abortion without either the provider or the patient being encumbered by state laws.

Would you call now to ask your representative and senators to cosponsor the Women’s Health Protection Act?
