New York Assembly Health Committee Chair Amy Paulin (D-Scarsdale) has a bill A2078 that would require hepatitis b injections to attend college.
New York students are required to get three hepatitis b shots to attend pre or K-12 schools, but apparently that is insufficient. Hepatitis b is contracted via exchange of bodily fluids or sharing needles. There is no possible chance of transmission through casual contact in a college setting. These rules would also apply to students who attend online, and who attend online from other states. Only four states Vermont, Rhode Island, Oklahoma and North Carolina, and Washington DC require Hepatitis b shots for all students.
The overwhelming majority of college students are adults. The average age of a part-time college student in the United States is 27. The average age of a graduate student is more than 30, perhaps Asm. Paulin and Sen. Skoufis should let adults manage their own health decisions.
This is one of several current bills where the legislature is trying to impose control over adults bodies through legislation, as opposed to the executive edicts we saw under COVID. Both Paulin and Skoufis are outspoken proponents of “my body my choice,” but now they want to tell millions of adults in New York what they must do with their bodies if they want a college education
If the state can tell adults they have to get a medical product injected into their body to go to college, why not make injections precursors to renewing a driver license? Or renting a home? Or going to work? If we can require adults to get hepatitis b injections to participate in college, why not require the rest of the 111 doses of vaccines recommended by the CDC for adults age 18-65?

They are coming for the adults now
The vaccine industry has been saying for a long time that their future growth lies with adults not children, and we are seeing that reflected in the bills the pharmaceutical industry shills are introducing in Albany.
Right now there are six vaccine bills that would pertain to adults, and only two that create new mandates for children mandatory rotavirus shots for infants (S8340) and mandatory flu shots for K-12 students (A1811/S1945).
- Make inclusion of all adult vaccines records in the State database essentially mandatory (A765/S453a) so they can find people who do not comply and force us to capitulate.
- Mandatory hepatitis b shots for college students (A2078)
- Eliminate religious exemptions for work and college (A3325)
- A bill requiring sleep-away camp employees to get a range of vaccines (A3254/S3958)
