Hoylman (Westside Manhattan-D) is also the author of the bill that repealed the religious exemption from vaccine mandates to attend school in New York, and bills that would require annual flu shots for all students in New York, a bill that eliminates the religious exemption from vaccine mandates for college students and employees, and he has introduced several other vaccine mandate bills in the past.
We believe this is a pointless bill that tramples of people’s right to make medical decisions for themselves. There is no evidence to prove that overall health outcomes would be better with the mandate. This is a bad idea whose time has come and gone.
There is no identical bill in the Assembly as of yet, and Hoylman’s bill has no Senate co-sponsors so far. Let’s keep it that way.

S624 takes away the fundamental human right of adults to decide what medical procedures they will undergo.
Covid shots do not stop transmission. COVID shots may diminish symptoms, but they do not stop transmission or contraction of COVID.
Almost every adult in New York, 95%, have taken the COVID shot, and about 95% have had COVID. Who is left?
Currently, there are 5 colleges in NY that require the COVID shot to attend out of 418 colleges. Any college may institute their own mandate. Clearly, they are choosing not to.
Vaccines are usually tested for 7 to 15 years before they are placed on the market. COVID shots were only tested for weeks prior to mass usage. We have no idea what the short-term, much less the long-term health effects will be on people. Our entire population is being used as test subjects for an enormous medical experiment.
S624 would force people to be test subjects in a medical experiment in violation of the Nuremberg Code. Using people without their informed consent is a violation of the Nuremberg Code developed in the aftermath of physicians in Nazi Germany forcing people against their will to be test subjects in medical experiments.
Serious adverse vaccine reactions are real and are under-reported. As of 10/27/23, 1,567,238 adverse events following COVID vaccines were reported to the Vaccine Adverse Events Reporting System (VAERS), including 36,166 deaths. According to a government-funded study conducted by Harvard, less than 1% of all adverse reactions to vaccines are submitted to the VAERS. Can Sen. Hoylman demonstrate that a COVID vaccine mandate will result in fewer injuries and deaths than not requiring the shot?
COVID is a minimal risk for healthy young adults. Young adults have under .04% risk of death from COVID. According to the CDC, COVID overall has a 99.74% survival rate. Among young people, that number is even higher. For people aged 18 to 29, the survival rate is 99.97%. Consider this low risk from COVID when deciding whether to make mandatory an experimental vaccine that causes significant side effects, including death.
Any beneficial effect of the COVID shot declines rapidly, which is why we are now up to the sixth COVID booster, a booster which very few adults in the US are choosing to have injected into their bodies. Perhaps they are a better judge of what their health needs are than Sen. Hoylman.
