WVSRT Continues to AdvocateThe West Virginia Society of Radiologic Technologists continues to protect the radiologic technology profession in the state. The WVSRT is proud that West Virginia was the eighth state to recognize the hazards posed by exposure to radiation and implement a licensure program that would provide oversight of medical imaging and radiation therapy professionals. West Virginia’s licensing board has been in operation for 40 years and protects patients by ensuring medical imaging and radiation therapy educational programs meet accreditation standards and making sure that radiographers, radiation therapists, nuclear medicine technologists, magnetic resonance technologists and fusion imaging professionals meet the state’s rigorous licensure standards.
