The Radiation Oncology Case Rate Value-Based Program Act of 2024

On May 15, 2024, Sen. Thom TIllis, Rep. Brian Fitzpatrick, Rep. Jimmy Panetta, Rep. John Joyce and Rep. Paul Tonko introduced Senate Bill 4330/House Resolution 8404 - Radiation Oncology Case Rate Value-Based Program Act (ROCR).

S 4330/HR 8404 would usher in a new era of stable payments after years of decline. The current Medicare payment for radiation therapies is unsustainable. ROCR would provide relief from further cuts and decouple payments from volume. ROCR is a viable payment reform proposal that would increase patient access to care, improve cancer treatment, reduce disparities in service for underserved and rural patients, and lower Medicare spending and out-of-pocket costs.

This legislation will immediately and positively impact patient and workplace safety and the high-quality health care Americans deserve. The ASRT, American Society for Radiation Oncology and other partner organizations are working hard to pass ROCR.
