Despite a filibuster that led to a disappointing outcome, the day was truly significant thanks to the dedication of our members. Senators took the time to read stories  shared by our community and engage with ASRM representatives to understand the crucial need to safeguard ART.

This week marks another crucial step in the ongoing battle as the fight now moves to Congress. The bipartisan HR 8821, the HOPE for Fertility Services Act, would ensure that the discrimination against those who need medical care to build their families will come to an end. 

HR 8821 would require private health insurance plans to cover IVF and IUI as well as fertility preservation services for people facing iatrogenic infertility. 

If you have the opportunity to speak with your US Representative at a Fourth of July event, parade, or gathering, we encourage your to share your story as a reproductive medicine provider, and why legislation like the HOPE for Fertility Services Act is so important to you and your patients.
