The Southern Idaho and Inland Empire Sections of the American Society of Civil Engineers announced the 2025 Idaho Infrastructure Report Card today, covering 9 infrastructure categories, and giving the state's infrastructure an overall grade of ‘C.’ The ‘C’ grade matches the national grade of ‘C’ on the 2025 Report Card for America’s Infrastructure, which was just released in March, and is an improvement of Idaho’s 2018 grade of ‘C-’.
The improved grade is thanks in part to recent investments made by local, state, and federal leadership. Leaders in Idaho have taken a proactive approach to ensure the state’s infrastructure systems remain reliable as Idaho sees consistent population growth and ongoing challenges that Idahoans face from regular drought conditions and other extreme weather events.
Grade | Categories |
|---|---|
C+ | Drinking Water, Energy, Wastewater |
C | Dams, Roads |
C- | Bridges, Transit |
D+ | Aviation, Schools |
