The Colorado Section of the American Society of Civil Engineers unveiled the 2025 Colorado Report Card, covering 14 infrastructure categories, and giving the state's infrastructure an overall grade of ‘C-.’ The ‘C-’ grade is one step below the national grade of ‘C’ on the 2025 Report Card for America’s Infrastructure, which was just released in March, and the same grade as Colorado’s 2020 grade.
Over the last 5 years, Colorado decision makers have invested in improving the state’s built environment, but challenges that include increasingly extreme weather events, 39% population growth since 2000, and aging assets have put strain on these critical networks, which contribute to the grade remaining at “C-”.
| Grade | Categories |
| B- | Aviation, Dams, Rail |
| C+ | Bridges |
| C | Energy, Public Parks, Wastewater |
| C- | Drinking Water, Solid Waste, Stormwater, Transit |
| D+ | Levees, Schools |
The 2025 Colorado Report Card provides insight needed to start conversations and ignite action to improve the 2025 grades and, as a result, the state’s future by:
- Investing in asset management;
- Prioritizing resilience;
- Strengthening intergovernmental partnerships; and
- Engaging communities as infrastructure stakeholders.
