The new grades are in for the 2024 Report Card for Maine’s Infrastructure!

The Maine Section of the American Society of Civil Engineers released the 2024 Report Card for Maine’s Infrastructure today, with 16 categories of infrastructure receiving an overall grade of ‘C’. That’s a one-step increase from the 2020 Report Card for Maine’s Infrastructure. A ‘C’ grade means Maine’s infrastructure is in fair condition and will require attention to ensure it remains reliable in the future.

The 2024 Maine Report Card provides insight needed to start conversations and ignite action to improve the 2024 grades and, as a result, the state’s future by:

  • Prioritizing public safety;
  • Implementing climate resilience;
  • Creating sustainable funding sources;
  • Setting responsible, resilient utility rates and user fees; and
  • Educating and innovating a skilled workforce for the future.

To help ensure that the Report Card is working for you and your community, we need your help keeping investment at the front of legislators’ minds. To keep infrastructure front and center on the legislative priority list, share with your elected officials that our state’s infrastructure challenges are significant but solvable.

Please take a moment to contact your state and federal elected officials to share the news about Maine’s infrastructure systems!
