The report highlights current state of Oregon’s infrastructure, offering residents and policymakers a tool to engage in a conversation about the investment needed to improve and maintain critical infrastructure systems that are crucial to the health and safety of people in Oregon. While the federal Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act is providing Oregon billions in infrastructure funding, this money is just a down payment, and securing sustainable funding sources is imperative to elevate Oregon's infrastructure to meet modern standards and ensure the safety and well-being of its residents.
As Oregonians learn about infrastructure needs and decisionmakers’ work to address them, the 2024 Oregon Report Card provides insight needed to start conversations and ignite action to improve the 2024 grades and, as a result, the state’s future by:
- Increasing dedicated funding across categories;
- Implementing comprehensive resiliency measures;
- Strengthening regulatory frameworks and enforcement;
- Utilizing asset management systems to optimize spending; and
- Investing in workforce development and public participation.
