Federal Tax Cuts for the Wealthy Would Devastate Arkansas’s Families

The House of Representatives in D.C. wants to give $1 trillion in tax cuts to the extremely wealthy that they would pay for by cutting life-saving programs including Medicaid insurance and nutrition assistance. These cuts will directly affect our state budget and the health and well-being of hundreds of thousands of Arkansans.

Our communities are better off when families can buy food, pay their rent or mortgage, and take care of their kids when they get sick. Our state relies heavily on federal funds to help pay for important programs for Arkansas's children and families. Each year, almost $7 billion is sent to Arkansas for Medicaid alone, helping our state pay for things like health insurance for children and nursing home care for our elderly. If we lose federal funding for these critical programs, Arkansas taxpayers will either have to make up the difference or watch children and the elderly suffer.

Please tell Arkansas’s Senators not to give in to the House’s cuts to critical funding in exchange for tax breaks for people who don't need it. Ask them to work to protect Medicaid and SNAP from cuts that would take away health care and food assistance and raise families’ costs.

Email Senator John Boozman and Senator Tom Cotton. They both serve all of Arkansas, meaning they represent YOU!
