Why do we need your stories now? The White House and Congress have been issuing and considering executive orders, funding directives and policy proposals with harmful consequences for psychology. These proposals are rapidly shifting and evolving. In this highly volatile environment, APA Services is doing everything we can to fight for psychology and psychologists. 

However, to be better equipped to do so, we need to hear from you, our members, about what is happening on the ground, in your communities. We need to know first-hand how policy proposals, including funding freezes or funding cuts, are impacting your ability to do your jobs, finish your education, conduct groundbreaking research, and deliver behavioral health services. Your ability to be our eyes and ears makes you an indispensable partner in this work, allowing us all to be more effective advocates for the profession and the populations it serves. 

How can you participate? 

1. Enter your contact information below so APA Advocacy staff can follow up with you if we have questions about your entry. Please use your personal email addresses rather than your work addresses. We will not share personally identifiable information with officials without your consent.

2. Select which of our four portfolios is most relevant to you. This will help direct your story to the appropriate APA Advocacy Office staff.

3. Enter your anecdotes in the associated open-ended answer box. Specifically, we would need to know: which federal agency funds your program; what the program does and which communities it serves; whether it has been subjected to or threatened by a funding cut or freeze; whether it is being impacted by other policy actions outside of funding; what impact the cut or freeze has on the program; and what impact the cut or freeze has on the communities served.
