Call on Congress to pass U.S. Senate and House Anti-Blockade Resolutions holding Azerbaijan accountable for its blockade of food, medicine, and life-sustaining supplies to Artsakh.
Take two minutes to write, call, and tweet your U.S. Representative to cosponsor bipartisan U.S. House and Senate resolutions. These measures are spearheaded in the Senate by Senators Alex Padilla and Marco Rubio, and in the House (H.Res.108 and H.Res.320) by Representatives Frank Pallone, Brad Sherman, Adam Schiff, and the Congressional Armenian Caucus leadership.
These measures, in addition to forcefully condemning Azerbaijan’s actions, would place the U.S. Senate and House of Representatives on record in favor of the following reasonable remedies to the worsening manmade humanitarian crisis in Artsakh:
- U.S. leadership to rally the global community to petition international and multinational courts to investigate Azerbaijani war crimes.
- U.S. cooperation with international partners, including Artsakh authorities, in securing the deployment of international observers to the Lachin Corridor.
- Presidential action to immediately suspend any U.S. military or security assistance to Azerbaijan and to enforce Section 907 of the FREEDOM Support Act.
- Presidential enforcement of statutory sanctions authority against Azerbaijani officials responsible for the blockade of Artsakh and other human rights violations
- A robust program of sustained U.S. humanitarian relief and longer-term development assistance to the Armenian victims of Azerbaijani aggression in Artsakh.
H.Res.320 specifically calls for U.S. recognition of Artsakh’s right to self-determination.
