Ask Your Senators to End Unfair Insurance Practices by Cosponsoring S. 350
As a dentist, you know first-hand the importance of a competitive health insurance market. However, for 70 years, the health insurance industry has been exempted from Federal antitrust laws – leaving consumers susceptible to unfair price fixing, bid rigging, and market allocation. The time to correct this historical error and restore competition within the health insurance market and protect consumers from these unfair practices is now.
Senators Daines (R-MT) and Leahy (D-VT) have introduced S. 350, the Competitive Health Insurance Reform Act, legislation that repeals the antiquated McCarran-Ferguson antitrust exemption granted to the health insurance industry decades ago. It’s time for the health insurance industry to play by the same rules as virtually every other industry in our country, but first lawmakers need to hear from you.
