Take Action NOW to Protect Key Oral Health Workforce Programs
Congressional appropriators are currently working on setting funding levels for the next fiscal year (FY 2018). As negotiations take place, we want to ensure that key Title VII oral health workforce programs administered by the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) are protected. This is especially important given that the current administration has recommended eliminating all funding for these programs. The AGD needs your help to protect HRSA Title VII oral health workforce programs from steep budget cuts.
HRSA Title VII Oral Health Workforce programs play a key role in meeting the sustained need for more general dentists with advanced training. Further, expanding residency training in pediatric and general dentistry helps to facilitate a more diversified dental workforce that provides outreach and services to underserved and vulnerable populations. Title VII's role in expanding workforce capacity, and in supporting general dentistry and pediatric dentistry curricula, will remain important in the foreseeable future.
Don't delay - take action today by telling Congress to maintain funding for these crucial programs!
