Improve Access for Patients Who Need Cardiac and Pulmonary Rehabilitation Services
Annually, heart disease and COPD kill nearly 850,000 Americans and cost the United States over $370 billion. Yet, while recent studies have shown that cardiac and pulmonary rehabilitation increases positive patient outcomes and decreases costs, less than 25 percent of eligible Medicare patients receive these services. S. 717, the Increasing Access to Quality Cardiac Rehabilitation Care Act of 2025 would authorize NPs to order cardiac and pulmonary rehabilitation services. Urge your members of Congress to remove this outdated barrier that limits NP patients' access to these lifesaving services.
